Woofffff everyone, sorry for not blogging sooner it’s just been really busy – plus I’m still a bit tingly and have only just felt my paws properly haha.
Remember I said we went to the funny sounding place, well it was amazeballs (my mum says that all the time not sure what it means lol). We set off early for the thing that floats on the water, this time we went in Mum’s car so we had a bit more room and we were able to stick our heads out of the window and smell the country side, I can tell you some of it stank! Dirty smelly cows!
We stopped off a couple of times on the way for a wee, and Olga was very good and went whilst on her lead. (Louis!!! Don’t tell people that! – schh Olga). She also got in my way when I went so I ended up weeing on her head hahahahaha – I didn’t see her – honestly.
Mum got a bacon butty and a brew for her and Dad, and we had a lovely fresh bowl of water, of course I got first slurps – as always lol. Then it was straight onto the big floaty thing. I knew we were really close to it because I could smell the sea – and I heard the birds – pesky things.
Mum drove onto the floaty thing and went upstairs to get somewhere to sit, and Dad stayed with us until we were ready to go. I kept telling him we would be fine, and we had to make sure we looked after everything in the car, I think he was a bit worried, I don’t think he likes this part of the journey – I gave him a big lick and told him to go and find Mum.
I was on guard first so Olga had a sleepy, then after a while it was Olga’s turn to stand guard, so I woke her up and told her what she had to do, I then snuggled down and fell asleep. It only seemed like I was asleep for 5 mins when I heard Mum and Dad open the car doors, I looked round expecting Olga to be up and about – guess where she was – fast asleep next me! The girl is unreal and will never make it into Louis security squad! – Olga you’re fired!
We had a new box thing in the car that spoke to Dad and told him where to turn, it was really good and took us almost straight to the farmhouse, annndddd it didn’t shout at Dad when he took a wrong turning, I thought it was very good, because sometimes dad doesn't always listen to directions and we end up getting lost, but this box was very kind to him, it didn't tut or sigh once.
Once we arrived at the farmhouse I jumped out and had a quick run round to remind the cows and bulls I was there with a quick woof. Olga was still a bit sleepy and just plodded about next to Mum. I checked my hidey hole was still in the hedge and it was, and it was still as comfy as last time lol. Dad unpacked the car then whilst Mum unpacked our beds and toys, me and Olga took Dad down to the field for a quick run about, I thought he needed to stretch his legs, so off we went.
Dad opened the side gate and because I remembered the way I ran in front – this was my first mistake! I’m not sure what happened but all I can say was I now know why the cows stop in the field and don’t come to play with us. As I ran down the field I heard Dad shout for me to stop but I wanted to get there quick so ignored him – the next thing my tail touched something and I felt – well I’m not sure how to describe the feeling but I can tell you it made me a bit giddy and I ended up jumping about like a mad thing! Dad came running down and then suddenly jumped in the air? Olga ran down and was fine, I had no idea what was going on, so I ran up to Dad and he gave me a big rub and asked if I was ok, I gave him a big lick and ran off to find a stick, my paws were tingling though.
It was great to be back although some things had changed, the fields had been cleared of trees and the a couple of the ponds had lots of grass growing in them, Olga of course was straight in the water swimming about like a mad thing. I stayed out of the water and played with my Frisbee Dad had brought with him. I love it here, all this open space to run and play and there are no cars about at all, everyone drives big tractor things that chew all the grass up and then throw smelly stuff on the fields.
We made our way back to the farmhouse and I remembered to tuck my tail down, I ran in and told Mum what had happened and she gave me a big cuddle and said she would ‘sort that wire out’ when she sees it, I feel sorry for that wire Mum can be scary when she’s mad. Olga came in and had no idea what I was going on about – see told you she is just stupid!
We all had some tea and settled down to watch a bit of telly and to relax after our long journey, tomorrow is when we start playing ALL DAY!! Hahaha
Dad was up first and took me and Olga out for a run, we decided to go into the field with a big hill to play Frisbee, and because I knew the way I ran in front, Dad shouted to wait but I spotted a furry or rather loads of furries in MY FIELD so I set off after them, the gate was open so I ran into the field – I didn’t see the wire L yup you got it, my tail hit it and set off jumping about like a mad thing, Olga ran in followed by Dad, he just looked at me and said “Louis if you had listened to me instead of running off that wouldn't have happened!” once I’d stopped jumping about I went and gave him a lick and gave him my Louis puppy eyes – he rubbed my ears and threw my Frisbee.
When we got back to the farmhouse I told Mum about the wire, she said she would “sort that one out as well”.
Over the next few days Mum did what she said and “sorted the wire out” so I could run and not worry about it shocking me, I’m not sure what she did, but when I went in to the field next time the wire was led on the floor haha I think Mum killed it. – Stupid wire!
Most days we went out in the car to find somewhere for Dad to go monstering, we found loads of places and each time Dad would through sticks in the water for Olga to swim after, honestly that girl was hardly ever dry!
When we were driving about, I use to have my head out of the window and when I saw cows or other dogs I shout “Top of the morning to ya” Olga tried to copy me but got it all wrong and it ended up with a dog chasing us after she shouted “Get ya top off ya morning” – proves my point she is stupid.
Dad managed to get Mum to drive off road when we pulled up to some water, Mum hates off roading and when Dad told her to drive up this steep hill, I thought it might be wise if I got out haha nothing against Mum’s driving but you never know hahaha, she did really well, although her face was a picture, she looked scared stiff.
This holiday was the best, apart from the naughty wires, I managed to get my 25m swimming badge, which means I am better than Olga ! - ok ok – well I’m almost as good as her.
So it’s back to work again…
I cannot wait to go back and I hope it’s soon.
Love Louis and Olga
