Hi Everyone Louis’s Mum here…
So Louis was back at Rutland House on Monday and I wish I had
better news but I don’t. His blood count has gone down to 18% which is a 2%
drop from last week.
He seems bright enough in himself and he has gain 2kg
which is good, but on the inside of him things are just not working or getting
better. Stefano is at a loss what to do next and he just cannot work out what
is causing his body to kill the red blood cells so quickly, it may be there isn’t
a reason for it, it’s just happening, but that is really hard to take.
There is one last drug we can try which hopefully will be
stock tomorrow, but it really is his last chance, plus we need to consider
Louis’s quality of life, at the moment he is getting all the cuddles and kisses
we can give him, but we don’t know how he’s actually feeling – of course he
cannot tell us.
He is still being his mischievous self and helped himself
to my crumpets yesterday morning, and tried to blame it on Olga. He’s enjoying
a range of different food to keep his appetite going, but each day I look into
his eyes and wonder what’s going on in there, and will he tell us when he’s had
enough. I’m not ready to let him go! But that’s just me being selfish.
We just need some kind of breakthrough or reason why this is
happening then we can deal with it, but this not knowing is the worst thing.
Love Louis’s Mum xxx
