Day 3 –
Forests and Waterfalls
Hi everyone,
yes we are still here and yes it’s still AWESOME… I still haven’t managed to
work out where the loch goes each morning, and I don’t know where the white
cloud goes when the loch comes back…it must be a Scottish thing.. Whatever it
is and wherever it goes, it always eats Olga and then spits her back out
again…. She must taste awful hahahaha..
Today we all
went for a walk in the forest, Dad showed Mum the blue trail we could follow,
which would take us deep into the forest, past part of the loch and then back
up into the forest where the tallest trees ever live. Dad said some of the
trees were over 100 years old! And stood over 100 foot (I think that works out
at 500 paws tall), he also said there was a waterfall as well. We all headed
off following the blue trail, the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm.
Mum had took her big camera with her so that meant me and Olga had to stop and
smile when she wanted to ‘snap’ us… boringgggggg, I was like “Mum get some
action shots of me” I set off running around and jumping over the fallen trees,
I think Mum got a bit fed up because she couldn't ‘snap’ me quick enough lol.
The walk took
us deep into the forest and the smells were amazing, we saw loads different
trees, and leaves, and flowers and there were little ponds that of course Olga
jumped straight into, she came out of most of them covered in smelly mud. We
ran off in front and at one point I was running downhill so fast I fell head
over paws!, I think Olga tripped me up to be honest, but I didn't make a big deal of it, and to be honest I was just glad no-one else saw me!! I must have
looked a right fool toppling down the hill…
The walk took
us down to the loch for a much needed drink, and a wash for the smelly Olga,
and then it took us back up hill into the forest, that’s where Mum went into a
bit of a panic, Dad found the waterfall and there was a sign that said “Steep
sides pass with care”, of course I wanted to go and see what Dad was looking at
and ran towards him.
Mum must have thought I was going to fall over the side
and started shouting “Louis no – come here- come here” Dad asked what she was
shouting at and she got a bit upset saying she didn't want me or Olga going
near the edge. Dad looked at me and said “Come on Louis, let’s move away before
Mum has a heart attack” I know Mum loves us, but she needs to realise that we
have 4 leg drive so can run and jump better than someone with 2 leg drive.
When we got
back to the truck Mum was really tired and she looked like a poodle with her
curly hair, I've never noticed that before and I couldn't help but laugh.
We drove back
to the log cabin and Olga had a quick dip in the loch to clean the remaining mud
off her, I did a quick sweep of the garden to make sure no-one had been in
whilst we were out. The man next door had been monstering as well, but hadn't caught anything either, I told him my Dad had caught the loch each morning, so
was obviously a much better monsterer than him.. J
This has been
the best day up to now, I love this place… and I will find out where the loch
goes at night time, and where the white cloud comes from in a morning, if it’s
the last thing I do, I think I might have to stay up all night watching it!
See you all tomorrow
Love Louis and Olga xx
