Wooooooffffffffff
Hi Everyone,
What have I done this week........... well me and Finley are best mates now, he's such a funny little thing, although I think he thinks he's as big as me because he tries to bark like me hahaha but I hardly hear him hahahaha... he has great toys and treats as well, but everything is tiny when I pick it up but massive when he does, it's weird.
I went and spent a day with my Nana (the one with the see through roof), oh it was lovely, we had some tea and toast and then settled down for a nap in the room where you can see the sky. It was really warm and Nana said she was a little sleepy and led down on her sofa, I thought she looked a little lonely on her own, so when her eyes were closed I crept up and laid next to her, she moved over so I could squeeze on, we had a lovely sleepy... I love my Nana... xx
Dad said me and him were going to have a day out on Friday, so I was really excited all week wondering where we were going to go, anyway on Thursday I thought I'd make sure I had an early night because Dad said we were going to set off early... wow early!! that means we must be going somewhere really far ...well excited.. I dreamt about big fields, and furry things to chase and ohhhh birds!!.
So Friday came round and gosh we were up early 3am...I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes with my paws, and got up, I didn't fancy breakfast that early so Dad put it in a bag for me, and he made himself some buttys. I had a bottle of water and Dad had that fizzy stuff with the bubbles that go up your nose. We set off in the truck and drove for a while, and ended up in a field surrounded by trees. I though brilliant this is going to be fun, Dad got a load of bags out of the truck and carried them into the trees whilst I stayed....keeping guard.
He came back after a few mins to get me, and he put me on my lead...which I thought was a little mean because no-one was around so I could have just walked next to him.. but noooo I had to go on it booooo. Anyway we headed off into the trees and then I saw it.... a massive big puddle!! Excellent!!! I thought this is brilliant just think how much splashing around in that I could do..
We walked to where Dad had his bags and he sat down on his chair next to the big puddle and pegged my long lead into the ground and attached me to it, he had brought my big cushion out of the truck for me to lie on, so I thought ..oh well maybe Dad just wants a rest before we set off having fun, because it was early. So I thought it's a bit chilly and I snuggled down on my cushion and had a nap. When I woke up, Dad was still sat on his chair but he had a long stick in his hand, and then I noticed some other people had turned up as well...I got up and wandered over to Dad to see what he was doing and then I smelt it... on my goodness... whatever it was it smelt amazing. Of course I started to dig my nose into all the pots Dad had next to him, he started laughing saying "Louis those are for the fish"...Fish? I thought what are fish?
The next thing I heard a really loud bleep which scared me for a second, I think it frightened Dad as well, because he picked his stick up and started to turn the wheel on the side of the stick and then I saw it.....it was a monster from the puddle!!! Dad brought it to the side where we were sat, and ewwww picked it up!!!!. He showed it me and I had a sniff...poooooo it stank... Dad then put it back in the puddle... I think this is called monstering... I'm not sure if I like it :0( it was cold, and we were outside when I could have been snuggled up in my nice warm bed... but I guess because I was with my Dad it wasn't too bad.
This morning Mum and Dad were up early, so I thought I'd take them down on My Beach, the only thing about taking Mum with us is she always takes her camera and makes me sit and pose, when all I want to do is playing the chasing waves game with Dad... My Beach was really quiet this morning, and it was really warm, so we set off, I walk on my lead half way to the waves and then Dad lets me off... there were loads of sticks there this morning, I'm not sure where they all came from but I wasn't bothered. We played chasing the waves for ages. Another old black lab came over wanting to play as well, but he was a bit fat and he couldn't catch me or get to my stick quick enough, haha he was funny and didn't play for long, his Mum came up and put him on his lead because he was naughty and wouldn't go back to her when she shouted....
Gosh that must be awful for Mums and Dads when the we don't come back.... I must remember that when I try to do it to my Dad.......
I'm having a nap now all that wave chasing has made me really tired.

Hello Louis,
Good to hear from you again and to read about your new monstering experience with your Dad, I can quite understand that such an activity can become very boring if you are not very fond of fish so I suggest that you develop some activities of your own that you can indulge in whilst your Dad is occupied. You could try your paw at wildlife spotting along the puddle banks, or conduct a survey on the different bait varieties that other monsterer use to catch their fish; you could rate them in order of palatability for the monsters as well as taste testing for the Dobie plate. I have noticed in my time that some monsterers use stuff like sweetcorn, varities of bread and even meat products. This could be a very interesting topic to research which could increase to include the different monsterer packed lunches. Or you could take up a hobby of your very own like landscape painting, Dobe poetry or you could start that autobiography of your early years. Love the pictures of your handsome self on your beach and the one with you flaked out on the sofa, you are just like my dear Kodi, she always loved to snooze on her back with her legs in the air. I'm off to FOND HQ this Thursday to visit Pam and Louise and help out with all the poor Dobie waifs and strays that are pouring into FOND at the moment. Poor Pam is utterly exhausted and is hoping to get some time off whilst I'm there to steer the good ship. I will of course give her all your news if she has not had enough time to catch up with all your recnt blog enteries and report that you are such a very happy Dobie lad living in the ultimate Dobe Paradise.
Well time to go and start packing, I had better go prepared for rain, where has the summer disappeared to this year? I could not view your latest video clip because I only have access to a work based computer that will not allow me to see moving pictures :0( but I'm sure you did indeed make short thrift of the ice cream tub.
Bye for now, and I look forward to the results of any bait/packed lunch surveys that you manage to complete.
Sue from FOND
