Louis has crashed and is critical again..

Hi everyone Louis’s Mum here….

Louis’s has crashed today, his PCV levels are now 13% from 22% at the end of last week.

He has been over to see Stefano and other than a very expensive operation and more blood transfusions there is nothing more we can do for our handsome boy.

The operation is called a splenectomy, where they remove his spleen. The spleen is where the red blood cells are destroyed before leaving the body. The thinking behind this is by removing it, it will allow his red blood cells to remain in his body, but could leave him open serious infections afterwards. This is a last ditch chance to save Louis, but as with everything to do with this disease it costs a fortune, we are just waiting to find out how many thousands we are facing, which of course will more than likely make the decision for us. There is no guarantee it will even work, but it is his last hope.

I cannot even begin to explain how heartbroken we are, we really thought we had done everything possible to beat this horrid condition.

I wish Louis was writing this blog telling everyone how amazing he is feeling, but as I write this he is sat at my feet trying his hardest to keep going.

PCV Falling :'(

Wooooooooofffffffffff Everyone Louis here……..

I’ve not been feeling very well this week, I’m not sure why, but my tummy has been upset and it’s been making lots of noises plus I’ve not really fancied my tea which is not like me because I love my food! Well I actually love Olga’s tea better than mine, but you know what I mean. I’ve also been having really strange dreams, where I have seen flying sweeties, this happened to me last night when Dad was watching the little men running round in the box in the corner.

I was fast asleep and I heard Dad getting up to go somewhere without telling me, so I opened my eyes really quickly – and when that’s when I saw it! A flying sweetie! I snapped at it and I was so fast I manged to catch it! As I chomped and swallowed I heard Mum shouting “Louis noooo! You’ve just eaten a fly!” I looked at her and said “Don’t be silly Mum it was a flying sweetie and it was really tasty plus I just fancied a snack!” I got up to find out where Dad had gone, he knows the rules he cannot go anywhere without me!

Today was my time to go and see Stefano, it’s been 2 weeks since I saw him last, and that means only 1 thing – duck sausages! We had to take Olga because she needed to see Mr Duncan about her leg, hers was just a check-up because Mum said it’s been 4 weeks since she had her operation. Of course she always tries to steal the lime light, so we have to stay outside when she’s with us. Mum went inside to check us in, and I had a drink of water that Dad has brought with us.

Olga was called in so Mum took her and I stayed with Dad, she was only gone a few mins, but wow she made a right racket in there, she’s such an embarrassment, I mean really, does she not care, I have a reputation at this place, and she was ruining it! When she came out, Mum was bright red and looked really angry with her, Dad didn’t help really by saying “Sooooo that went well then?” deary me Dad even I wouldn’t have said that! I went up to Mum and leaned on her (she likes that) and gave her my big teddy bear eyes look, she gave me a kiss and said we were next in. Olga stayed in the car with her toys and water, she couldn’t cause any more trouble in there.

We went in and Stefano was just finishing with another family, so I had to wait until he called for me. It wasn’t long before I heard Stefano, and I set off running to him and I forgot I’d still got Dad attached to me, I nearly dragged him off his chair hahaha. We went into Stefano’s room and he had grabbed a new bag of Duck Sausages as we went in. He asked Mum and Dad how I’d been and Mum told him about my tummy, and breathing and stuff, I was too interested in Stefano opening the duck sausages…. I was hopping about ---come on Stefano hurry up! He gave me two and said I had to wait until he had spun my little red men before I got anymore, so off we went to the spinning room. I was good and gave up my little red men up, Stefano spun it and we all then went back down to see Mum and Dad.

I sat down nicely and waited for my treats, Stefano told Mum and Dad that my PCV had gone down to 23%, which is down 3%. Mum’s eyes started to leak and Dad looked at me and shook his head, I was chomping on my treats and looked up wondering what had been said! Mum gave me a big cuddle and kiss, and Stefano said I had to go back onto the sweeties called Cyclosporine – Dad said he didn’t want me to have because it made my paws sore and it’s a real nasty sweetie. Stefano said that we had to try it again because nothing else was working. Mum was really quiet on the way home, and Dad keeps telling me to pull myself together,
I’m not sure what he means because as far as I can remember I haven’t lost anything since my tail fell off, so I’m not sure what I have to pull together?

One last thing before I go….

I need to set the record straight! I am not frightened of furries, just because I decided to take the long way round the field last week when I saw a furry doesn’t mean anything, so to prove how big and brave I am, I told Dad to capture my hunting skills at their best, so watch the video below and you will see the massive furry in the back ground! I soon saw it off!

Lots of Love

Cone-on the Dober-rarian

Woof everyone Louis here.....

This weekend I have mostly been Louis Cone-on the Dober-rarian, that’s Mum’s joke on a film she’s watched called Conan the Barbarian , of course the resemblance of me against Arnie is staggering, all muscle, hehehe.

I’ve found it really hard this weekend to stop having a nibble at my stitches, I don’t think Mum realises how itchy they are, Olga has also been on the naughty step as well, and actually she sets me off, when she starts licking her leg it makes me start licking mine – so it’s all her fault!

I took Dad out yesterday morning for a really really early run, because I knew it was going to be warm and he would suffer if we went later. It was lovely on the field, there was only me, Dad and Olga on there, except for loads of furries of course. Olga still has to stay on her lead, so I said I’d clear them off, so I set off running. I spotted one little one right at the other end of the field so I headed for it, as I got closer, it wasn’t for moving, I looked really impressive in my full stalking mode, crouched down moving forward dead slow, not making a sound, I stopped, but it stayed where it was, I took another step forward, still it didn’t move. Now I’m a big brave Dobie but this furry wasn’t going to move, so I waited for Dad to catch up, and I stood there stalking it.

Dad asked me what I was doing and I told him to shushh because there was a pesky furry that wasn’t shifting, Dad said “Louis mate it’s a baby and is probably frightened so leave it alone and when we walk past it will dart off into the long grass” – WALK PAST IT!!! Not a chance, what if it jumps at me! What if it bites me! I don’t want myxomatosis – my toesy are fine where they are, plus I cannot afford to have anything else falling of me! What was I going to do???
Olga had spotted it and was jumping about on her lead, but Dad told her to behave so she didn’t bother with it. Now I had 2 choices, run at it, and hope it was just frightened and it would run off before I got there OR go round the other way, and as it was a lovely morning I decided to walk round the other way, not because I was scared of anything, but I remember Mum saying a change is as good as a rest! – So I was ermm…. Yes I was listening to Mum and trying something different, and do you know she was right!

When we got home Dad was telling Mum about how I had run off from a baby furry, which of course is a total lie, I wasn't frightened I just decided to try something Mum had told me, so actually I was being a good boy, and I should be praised for it, not laughed at!

I went to work with Dad on Thursday, we only had a few things to finish so I said I would patrol the grounds and make sure there were no naughty birds or wicked cats about, it was lovely, the sun was out and the grass was really green and soft and – well I just sat down for 5 mins – well I thought it was 5 mins, the next thing I heard was Dad packing the van up and him heading to the back door, I jumped up and stood on patrol! Dad said we have finished and we were heading home, because it was so warm, we stopped off at McDonalds for a McFlurry, it’s been ages since I’ve been to McDonalds and the one we went to, Dad had to stop and talk into a box and a lady in the box took our order, I bet she was red hot sat in that little box all day. When we reached the window to pay, I stood over Dad and woofed hello, the girl screamed! I was only saying hello. We parked up and ate or McFlurries but we were being bombarded by Seagulls! I have no idea where they came from because we were nowhere near My Beach!

On the way home we stopped at Nana’s with the see through roof to pick Olga up, she had stopped with Nana, because she isn’t old enough to come to work. Nana said she had been good and had eaten all her tea and toast. I love it when I go to Nana’s because we have tea and toast, and then ear rubs, and then biscuits and another cup of tea, then we have lunch and then a nap! Grandad was dancing in the kitchen when we got there, I ran in to say hello and he was really bopping along to something on the radio, he looked really funny.

I’ve learnt something this weekend, and it’s this – When Mum says she’s going to put my shade of shame on if I don’t stop licking my paws – she means it! Even if we are both in the same room, and no amount of sulking will change her mind. I must remember this!

See you soon

Hot Days and Hotter Nights

Woooooffffffffffff Everyone Louis here…

Oh my goodness it’s been red hot here, I’ve taken Dad out a few times but I think he finds it a bit hard in the heat, we went out the other day and he forgot to bring some water with us, but not to worry I went on my filed and found my own. I offered Dad some but he said I had slobbered all over the top and I’d popped the bottom so he wouldn’t bother, well that was cheeky, I don’t mind when I’m nicking his tea if he has slobbered all over it!

I took Olga to see Mr Jones a few days ago to see if her stitches could be taken out but she has to keep them in for a bit longer, which means she has to keep wearing her ‘shade of shame’ hahaha, she hates it sooo much. She is still bumping into everything, but she has mastered the ‘moon walk’ as Mum calls it, basically she is spending most of her time walking backwards! Dad still has to carry her upstairs because she’s not allowed to climb them yet, I think she has gotten use to them now, because she just stands at the bottom waiting to be carried up! I tried it but dad just looked at me and said “Louis mate not a chance – you’ve piled the weight on” – honestly there is no end to Dad’s rudeness!

I went to see Stefano yesterday and he spun my little red men, and they are at 26%, which Mum said is up 2% so that only means one thing – TREATS! Mum said if I get a higher score each week then I can have some treats, so I tried really hard – clever meeeeee. Stefano was pleased with me but he did say he had expected it to be higher! There is just no pleasing some people, he also said that if I’m not better before he leaves then he will be really angry with me!!!!
He told Dad that the is handing me over to a new lady who I will call Not Mrs Stefano, we’ve not met her yet, but I have told Stefano she needs to know the rules, which are:
  1. Always have duck sausages available
  2. Always give me kisses and cuddles
  3. Always tell me how handsome I am

That should just about cover it.

I had to clear the birds off my field yesterday as well because they were trying to take over, but I made sure they knew who was the boss! Olga still isn’t allowed off her lead so as I was chasing the birds off I was running past her shouting “chase meeee – oh but you can’t” hahahhaha – she was crying as usual.

When we got back to the car I was panting like mad because I was so hot, Dad was lifting Olga into the back of the car when he started taking photos of my gums, so there was me panting like a steam train, whilst Dad had his phone in my mouth!! Honestly he has caught Mums bad habit! I got him back when a big string of slobber hit his phone hahahahahah. Dad said Mum would be well happy with the colour of them.

When we got back I just crashed out on the kitchen floor because it's the coolest place in our house! It was lovely, plus I was nearer to the fridge and the treat bowl so I'd hear any if they fell out, or if Olga tried to sneak in and steal any! Whilst I was there resting, my plaster on my leg was itching so I had a little nibble and in no time I had eaten it! I thought I might as well put myself on the naughty step!

I better go, I’ve just heard Dad filling my bucket up in the back garden, the water will be super cold J

See you soon

Things are dropping off me!!!!

Woooooooffffffffff everyone Louis here….

Guess where I’ve been today? Go on guess……. Nope not on My Beach… nope not on My Field either… ok I’ll tell you..

I’ve been to see my Nicky and Mr Jones at the doggie docs, one reason was because I miss Nicky and she always gives me loads of kisses and cuddles, but the other reason was because I had hurt my toenail when I took Dad out yesterday and it was kind of hanging off.

When Mum saw it she went all pale and had to sit down, she’s really not good at stuff like this, anyway I said it would be fine, but today as I was running into the kitchen to beat Olga to the treats, I banged it against the door and wowzers its really hurt and all my little red men came running out! So Dad said I had to go and see Mr Jones straight away, so off we went. Mr Jones tried to pull it off!!! I had to tell him to stop because it was hurting, so he said he would give me a special treat which would make it all better. I loved the sound of that!

I don’t know what was in this treat but it made me really sleepy, my Nicky told me to have a rest and close my eyes and she would tell me all about this handsome dog she knows, who is always brave and who she loves sooo much, I looked at her and asked if it was meeee… I don’t remember anything else after that until I woke up and my paw was a bit sore and my leg as well. My Nicky was still holding me and telling me the story about this super brave dog, of course she was talking about me hehehehe… when I went to have a nibble at my toenail, it had gone! I looked all over trying to find it but it had vanished. I then went to have a nibble at the lump on my leg and that had gone as well! What on earth had happened, I shut my eyes for 5 mins and things are dropping off me!!! Last week it was my tail and this week it’s my toenail and lump!

Mum and Dad came to pick me up and when we got home, Olga was wearing her ‘shade of shame’ I started laughing at her and she started to cry as usual, Mum said she was on the naughty step! FINALLY it’s not me … I asked Mum why was she on there and Mum said Dad had caught Olga trying to pull her stitches out… ohmmmmm naughty Olga hahahahhaha..

I’m a bit sleepy now so I’m going to have a quick nap whilst Dad watches the little men running round in the box in the corner. I’ve been thinking about everything that’s dropped off me lately, and I bet my little red men are doing loads better because they don’t have to live in my long tail anymore, or in my toenail or my lump! I bet Stefano is going to be really happy with me next week J

What a few days that's been!!!

Wooooffffffffff Everyone Louis here…

Oh my goodness what a rubbish few days I’ve have! They have been filled with nothing but moaning, crying and whining, and not to mention constant barging into walls and doors… Yes Olga has had an operation on her leg again!
Deary me Mum brought her back from Rutland on Friday and boy has she made a meal out of having a little operation, she insisted that Mum sat with her stroking her and telling her how brave she has been, I’ve had to give my bestest fluffiest blanket up because “poor little olgey wolgey” has a poorly leg… phhffttttt she has no idea what pain is. I on the other paw do, I told her that I’ve had so many needles in me lately no wonder my little red men are leaving my body, it’s probably because I’m like a sieve!

The other day, Mum had to nip out to the shop, obviously to get something amazing for me, and Dad was outside so Mum said that she wouldn’t be long and asked me to look after Olga. I pretended to be asleep, so Mum said she better put Olga’s ‘shade of shame’ on just in case she started to nibble at her stitches. I kept my eyes shut really tight and once I heard the door close I opened them and there was Olga looking a right fool in “all her full glory” as Mum says, she started to cry because she couldn’t see properly and she was banging into everything, I ran behind her and woofed “BOO!” she spun round and caught the ‘shade of shame’ on the door handle. She was there for ages trying to unhook herself, I had to cross my legs because I was laughing so much I thought I might wee – hahahhahahaa.

When Mum got back Olga was proper crying, and Mum said she was so sorry for leaving her, but it was only for 5 mins. I inspected Mum’s bags to see what she had bought me, but there wasn’t anything nice in there. I need to have a word with Mum, she knows the routine, she goes out and buys me nice things, and when she comes back I dig through her shopping bags to find them, she’s not been keeping to her side of the deal lately!

Mum told Dad about all the sweeties Olga has to take, and when her stitches need to come out, and when she is back over to see her- Not Stefano – I think he’s called Duncan, Olga did tell me but if it’s not Stefano I stop listening. I think Mum said she will have to come over when I go over, which is totally not fair because she hogs all the cuddles and kisses, because everyone thinks she is lovely, except I know better she trumps loads and snores even more! – that’s not lovely.

I’ve got a new game, it’s called “Let’s steal Olga’s tea and pretend it’s a game”! I’ve even got Dad playing along now as well… It’s great I get to eat my tea and then some of Olga’s whilst pretending I’m being clever in catching hahahhaah..

*** alright I’m comingggggg******

Sorry I have to go Olga has got herself stuck on the wood shed in the back garden again! I really want to leave her out there for a while, but she will only blame me for not helping, but to be fair I did tell her that she would fit through the gap with her shade of shame on! Silly girl believed me hahaahaha..

Back at Rutland - Louis AND OLGA!

Wooofffffffff everyone Louis here….

We’ve just got back from Rutland after seeing Stefano, I thought I’d better go over because it’s been ages since I saw him last and I know was missing me, plus he hadn’t seen my new tail!

Mum said we had to take Olga with us because her leg is poorly and Duncan at Rutland wanted to see her, I told her if she was going to show me up then we were going to leave her there! She started crying and ran off and told Mum, honestly the girl is a pain in the bum.

Dad came home early and we all set off to Rutland, just before we got in the car I saw Olga whispering to Mum and then Mum went back into the house and came out with the shade of shame and put it in the front of the car! I looked at Olga and said “What did you say”! – she stuck her tongue out at me and said she had told Mum that I had been licking the spot on my leg and that I couldn’t be trusted! Oh my days Olga! You are going to pay for that, when we get back I am going to eat all your dinner!!!! AGAIN!!

When we got to Rutland, Mum went and booked us in and because Olga is naughty when other dogs are around waited outside, I was watching everyone going in just in case I spotted Stefano.

Olga was called in so I had to wait in the car, Mum and Dad said they both wanted to in with her because she was only little and she was scared. I told Olga she was being a scaredy cat and once again she started crying and Mum gave her a cuddle and she whispered in her ear again, the next thing Dad opened the car door and put the shade of shame on me!!!! Ohhhhh Olga you are in soooo much trouble… As she walked off with Mum and Dad she shouted that she was going to eat all my treats!!!

I went on guard and made sure no-one came near my car, after a bit Mum and Dad came back out to get me because Stefano had called me in, I jumped out the back of the car and Dad was about to take me in, I had to stop and remind him I was still wearing the shade of shame and there is NO WAY I am walking in there with that thing on! As he took it off me I looked round and couldn’t see Olga? Now I had to really think about my next move, if I asked where she was and they had just forgot her, they would have run back in to get her – I didn’t want to remind them! So I stayed quiet and dragged Dad in to see Stefano.

When we got into his office Stefano was there and so was Cornelia!!! She ran up and gave me a massive cuddle and lots of kisses! Stefano had gotten my treats out and really happy to see me, I did a twirl and showed off my new tail.. he said I looked really well and if anything a little bit FAT! I nearly spat one of my treats out, I looked at him and he laughed at me. After all this time he turned round called me FAT – how rude, it’s a good job I really like him! Cornelia gave Stefano a “Mum look” and then gave me another treat hehehehehe..

After a chat with Mum and Dad we went upstairs to spin my red men, he also took some from the spot on my leg, as we were heading to the moving room that takes us downstairs, I spotted Olga! She shouted me to go and see her, I took Cornelia over with me and Olga said she wanted to come home, I asked why she was up here and she said that Duncan needs to shave something off her knee!! – Oh dear Olga - that’s what happens when you are nasty to me! Enjoy your stay! Hehehehehe

When we got back downstairs my Mum and Dad where waiting for me, Stefano told them that my PCV was 24% so it had only gone up 2% and the spot on my leg is a benign tumour called histiocytoma, I have no idea what that means but I know it’s itchy. Mum looked really worried but Stefano said it’s nothing to worry about, as long as I don’t lick it and make it sore I will be ok.

We said our goodbyes and as we headed for the door, Mum asked if my PCV levels would ever get above 30%, when Stefano answered I had to stop and look at him to make sure I heard him properly, he said he really wants them to, because he is leaving Rutland in Aug to go back to work with his friends!! Noooooooooooooooooooooo he will miss me too much, he said he doesn’t want to leave until I’m better – so I have to hurry up and make lots and lots of red men..

We got in the car and drove home, without Olga!!! Hehehehe I decided not to remind Mum and Dad about seeing Olga upstairs hehehe, one peaceful night for meeeee.

Speed Eater - white tails

Woooffffffffff Everyone Louis here…

I have been trying to find the number for POGDOGS?. I wanted to speak to Paul O’Grady to get him to tell Mum and Dad to give me more treats! I’ve been really good and I’ve left my tail alone, I’ve even stopped licking my paws, ok ok so they have stopped itching but that doesn’t matter. I’ve also been helping Olga eat her tea as well, Dad said I've become a 'speed eater' and Olga isn't getting a look in! That's not fair Dad, I'm only helping because ermm… it goes cold if it’s not eaten fast, and she just dawdles and it always smells so nice, and she has got to watch her weight! – (phew I think you got away with that one Louis lad!)

I’ve emailed Stefano to check when he wants to see me again because he always gives me Duck Sausages, and he said My MUM has already spoken to him and he said because I’m doing so well I don’t need to see him till next week!!! I even tried to call Sheena my Mum’s friend in France but my paws are too big to press the buttons right, I ended up listening to someone who asked if I had been in an accident in the past 2 years? I said no but if you can get my Mum to give me treats then that would be great, the phone made a buzzing noise after that.

I clearly wasn’t going to get far with this approach so I’ve been trying to master MY DISSAPPOINTED look, I think I’ve got it just about right, I use this look when me and Dad have had to have the talk about the fact that he has a lovely chicken sandwich and I don’t! – he’s still in training because he’s just not getting it. He knows the rules, if he has something to eat then I have something to eat… I think Dad needs to go on the naughty step!

I’ve been feeling loads better, and I’ve even been on my field chasing the furries, Olga has been on her lead because he leg is poorly, she is coming over to Rutland with me next week, she is going to see Duncan, whilst I see Stefano – I can never have anything to myself! I don’t think Duncan will have duck sausages – he better not anyway or there will be trouble!

I almost got off the naughty step this week, I was doing really well until Mum caught me with my paws on the side acting like a giraffe trying to reach for my treats, I stretched my neck and stuck my tongue out trying to get the bags, but I just couldn’t reach them, then Mum walked in – busted!

Yesterday I went back to see Mr Jones and he checked my tail, it was looking good he said and that I was very clever and my gums were looking almost normal now! – surely that deserved a treat?? Nope Mr Jones doesn’t give treats, but the Not-Nicky’s give me lots of cuddles and kisses so it’s not all bad. Mr Jones changed my plasters and instead of putting a green plaster on, he just used white tape! Which basically meant he gave me a white tail! Olga started laughing when she saw me and said I looked like the furries on My Field! I gave her a nip and told her to stop being rude, of course she ran off and grassed on me to mum.

I'm going to go because I've just remembered where Olga has hidden her toys with the treats in!!!!

Spot the Difference......

Wooooooofffffffff everyone Louis here….

I’m in big trouble, not only am I on the naughty step, Mum said she is going to move my step to somewhere called Narnia!!! Where’s Narnia? She’s not just disappointed in me, she’s extremely disappointed! I had to google what ‘extremely’ meant …. It’s not good, not good at all.

It has been almost 2 weeks since I last went to Rutland House to see Stefano, and things were going well until I decided to have ago at my tail, I told Mum it was itching and doing my head in, always following me about and getting in the way, it’s been like this for 5 years! so it deserved to have bite, Mum and Dad made it worse by covering it in honey! I mean come on did they not think that would make it taste nice… I love honey….so I had a nibble, which turned into a bit of a buffet, and then it just kind of fell off! I thought I’m going to have to hide this bit of tail, it was quite big almost as big as my paw!

I hunted round and checked out all my usual hiding places, but they were full with Olga’s toys… hehehe shushhh don’t tell her. I was running out of time because I heard Dad coming in, so I did the only thing I could think off … I ate it, plaster and all…there no one will ever know! Dad open the door and I ran down the stairs, but my tail grassed on me, it started waving itself about and all my red men came flying out all over the heated walls, and carpet, some flew in my shade of shame! This really wasn’t going as planned… the look on Dad’s face as well!!

He quickly checked me over but couldn’t see where my red men were leaking from, he checked my gums, paws, ears everywhere, I thought, ah ha!! I’ve got away with this, then that’s when it happened, when my tail finally turned on me and grassed me up… it hit Dad in the face!! He grabbed it and said “Louis!! What the hell have you done”!!

We went straight into the kitchen and he cleaned me up, he took a photo and sent it to Mum, how unfair is that! she would have never known, we could have kept it between us boys, but noooooo now Dad was grassing on me as well, I counted one paw, two paws, three paws then Dad’s phone went, and it was Mum screaming down the other end I heard her say she was sending it to Stefano… just brilliant, now he will be disappointed in me as well!

Mum came home shortly after and said that Stefano has told her to take me to see Mr Jones, and that my tail needed to come off – BRILLIANT what a result, I could finally lose the annoying thing that has followed me for years, it’s worse than Olga!

So this morning I went into and stayed with Mr Jones, my Nicky gave me loads of cuddles and kisses, and now I’m home – starving and thirsty, I headed straight for my bucket and then a big bowl of food! YUM!

They also took a sample of my red men to check my PCV, that didn’t go too well, it’s gone down to 22% from 29%  two weeks ago, when Mum found out she gave me a cuddle. I think she is worried again, so I might make my little red men a have a rest because this might get me off the naughty step! She told Stefano as well and he said he wants to see me next week…. See it worked ..always thinking.

See you soon

Cold bum - naughty steps & honey

Wooofffffff everyone Louis here…

I’m getting a bit fed up of being on the naughty step and my bum is cold.

This week I’ve not been to see Stefano because he said I was doing so well in making my little red men that he didn’t need to see me for 2 weeks, I’m sure he will be missing me though.

I think Dad has gone mad for some reason because he keeps bathing me every couple of days! But my paws are feeling a lot better and my sores have almost gone, which Mum and Dad are really happy about, except for one big one, which has gotten me into trouble this week. Although I am blaming Olga for not helping me… I’ll explain

As you know I’ve been wearing the shade of shame for weeks now and it does my head in, I thought I had killed it the other day and was really pleased with myself, but then my Grandad came round with another one! Honestly Grandad how could you! I thought you loved me!!!

Olga laughs at me because I can’t get to my paws when they are itching, which makes me stamp my paws, so I made a deal with her, and because she is soooo silly she accepted it. I said if she helps me to scratch my paws, then she can be boss for a day! She asked what that meant and I said you can do all the following before me:

  • ·         Lie on the blanket until it’s warm, I’ll wait my turn and have it after.
  • ·         Go outside first it see if it’s raining and then let me know. I said all top dogs go out first.
  • ·         Wake Dad up at 4am instead of 2am because he enjoys that time better, I said I’ll still do the 2am wake up call.
  • ·         Lick the plates as Mum fills the cupboard in the kitchen that cleans them, because I know how much Mum loves that type of help.
  • ·         Drink the last bit of the water bowl with the floating bits of food in, because that is a super top dogs job.

This was working well until Mum caught her licking my back paws, she got told off and Mum said she was really disappointed with her, Olga started crying and said it was all my fault! She is such a grasser!

So when the big scab on my tail started itching I was rolling round on the floor trying to get at it, but the stupid shade of shame was stopping me. I had gotten myself into a right tizzy rolling round, I could hear Dad in the back garden chopping the wood for the fire, and Olga was outside barking at him, I had managed to jam myself in the corner and there it was! Under my leg - trapped!!! My tail!!! And the lovely big scab just staring at me, saying “Go on Louis, give me a little scratch, what’s the worst that can happen”? so I started to give it a little lick, but you know what it’s like once you start you cannot stop! I went into a little bit of frenzy as Mum calls it, and in no time at all I have pulled the whole scab off! It left a bit of a big hole and my little red men were coming out, I knew straight away I was going to be in big trouble!!

I thought if I could get it to dry a little then the red men will stay inside me and no-one would ever know! Brilliant Louis I thought, right get it wagging it will be dry in no time! So off I went wagging like a mad thing, what I didn’t realise was my little red men then decided to spray all over the box in the corner, Dad’s big boxes where his noise comes out of, the walls, the carpet and the doors. Hmmmmm probably not my best idea, but not to worry if I licked them all up then my red men would go back inside me, Mum wouldn’t know and everyone would he happy.

Another bad idea…. I didn’t know when you lick your little red men they spread out more! The box in the corner ended up looking a bit of a mess, and I couldn’t even blame Olga because she isn’t as tall as me and Dad would have known she couldn’t reach up as far as me… Oh dear this wasn’t going well….

I went outside to see Olga and she spotted it straight away, she was about to shout Dad, but I managed to distract her by telling her I had found a buttercup, she came running over and totally forgot about my tail hahaha, Dad didn’t notice straight away, I thought brilliant I’ve got away with this! After a while he came in and made us all some lunch, he was sat eating his butty, when my stupid tail started wagging – that’s when he spotted it, he said “Louis mate come here, what have you done to your…..” he stopped talking at this point because he had switched the box on in the corner, and that’s when he noticed all my red men smeared all over the screen! “Louis!!! Oh my god what have you done!” He looked at my tail and I just knew by the look on his face I this wasn’t going to go well.

When Mum came home Dad told her what I had done and once again I’m on the naughty step and I have one very 'disappointed in me' Mum! This is totally Olga’s fault for not helping me. Mum took some photos and sent them to Stefano for advice. He replied straight away and said I needed to have it dressed with Manuka Honey, see even when I’m not seeing him he is always giving me treats – honey yummy!!

Mum sent the photos to my Nicky as well and she got me the honey straight away, I thought this was going to be brilliant, I would have a honey tail following me all day, and if I fancied a bit of a lick it would be there! Except that’s not what happened, Mum and Dad have put a dressing on my tail every day, and I cannot get to it! How unfair is that!

I am going to try harder this week to be good, Mum has been telling me about another Dobbie called Flossie that has the same as me, and her Mum takes her out in a trolley – how cool is that, it’s like a Dobbie Car because she is a little bit weak and cannot walk far, I remember when I use to be like that, but now I feel like I’ve got lots of running in me.

See you soon
Love Louis and Olga (the grass)
