Woof everyone…
Louis here, wow I don’t know what going on but I feel so
so poorly L. My paws are really sore
and my skin seems to be falling off my body! What on earth is going on! I’ve
got spots and lumps all over me, in my ears, up my nose! and they really hurt, plus
my fur isn’t growing back.
I feel like I’m 10 years old! I even have to let Olga win
when Dad takes us out, and sometimes I don’t fancy going out, the birds can
have My field and My beach I’m not bothered anymore.
I wish I could go back to how I use to be running round chasing
the furries and my Frisbee, but I just don’t have the energy anymore. Mum came
in tonight with some new sweeties for me, her eyes were leaking again but I’m
not sure why. I heard her telling Dad that these are the last sweeties I can
try, Mr Stefano said there wasn’t anything else he could do – does he not like
me anymore?
Mum told Olga she has to let me have the good spot in
front of the fire, of course she moaned but not for long.
It seems ages since I was able to run around properly,
even when I went to see Auntie Pam I couldn’t do as much as I normally do.
Whatever is going on in me it has to stop messing about. I’m not ready to walk
over the rainbow bridge yet!
Mr Stefano is going on holiday I wonder if he’s going to
see Auntie Pam? He said he hopes to see me when he gets back, I wonder why he
said that? Where does he think I’m going?
Dad gave me some pilchards tonight for tea which are my favorite now, he said I can have whatever I want, so I’m going to have a good think
about what other treats I can try. I have decided I like crumpets because I
tried Mum’s she left on the side, but next time she needs to put a bit more jam
on them.
I’m going to have nap now, Dad and little John are
watching the little people in the box in the corner running round, I tired just
looking at them.
Love Louis xx

Dr Stefano's comment that he would hopefully see Louis again struck a chord with me and brought back memories. In August of 2003 our vet, the wonderful Mr Millers, said the very same words to our lovely Dobie-girl Wallis before he went on holiday. He had been treating her throughout the summer and we knew time with her was limited, due to both her age (10+) and the nature of her condition. Thankfully, Mr Millers did see her again and we had a little extra time with our girl. I am pleased with every day there is no update from Louis - no news is good news. Best wishes from Anne and Ken, and also TJ and Lily (our rescue pretend-Dobies - we have not had the real thing for a while, but will hopefully do something about that at some point in the future.)
